Emerging from the other side of the Moon

I was horrified earlier this evening to discover just how much time has elapsed since I last posted. It almost feels as if I have actually been out of sight of the Earth. In fact the explanation is far more banal. I have simply been diverted by other things.

A real problem for me at the moment is the fact that we are contemplating moving house, and there has been a great deal to do in order to get the garden (which its quite large) into a respectable state. It does look pretty good now, especially as the various crops I planted earlier are just coming to fruition. It’s a particularly good year for soft fruit. The spring onions and the cabbage are both satisfyingly prolific.

I have tried to persuade myself repeatedly that I ought to get stuck into some art again, but it is almost as if “Fate” has had other ideas for me. For example, I went over to my stepson’s house the other day to take reference photos of some grand trees on his land. There has been a problem with the computer printer, however, so this idea has stalled. Of course, Wimbledon doesn’t help, but I fear that this is just an excuse.

One positive development has helped, I’m convinced, to put me in sight of “Earth” again, in that a real opportunity has come my way to take part in another group exhibition. There are a couple of other possibilities in the offing, so I hoped that I can regain some forward momentum.

When it comes down to the bottom line, I’m afraid that when I am painting I feel good, but when I am not actually being productive I feel wretched. I just need to get a grip!
