If, as an artist, you are concerned about the extent to which your work will be remembered by posterity, it is worth reflecting on one thing. The staterooms of The Titanic were adorned with many lovely items. Whether or not your art survives beyond your lifetime is going to be, in large measure, a matter of luck.
All we can do as artists is endeavour to ensure that what we leave is as good as we can make it.
