What defines “back to normal”?

As we emerge from the restrictions on our activity imposed on us because of the current pandemic, I find it interesting to see the activities people take as a standard of “getting back to normal”. I can understand the importance people attach to seeing their family again, but remain mystified by the number of people who seem to set great store by going to the pub.

I thought that I had passed a significant milestone when I was able to get my hair cut, but an even more important marker will be registered on Thursday. The weekly life-drawing class in Ilkley begins again. It is something I really have missed, and my adventures with drawing from TV still shots is no substitute for it.
