It doesn’t matter what is your walk of life, it seems to be the case invariably that there will always be one thing you ought to be doing, but it has slipped your notice. Today it struck me that I am in that situation, and ought to do something about it. It really is time that I started again to secure new exhibition opportunities.
My last effort in this direction was spectacularly mistimed …. I had a vigorous bout of correspondence with potential venues just as the current pandemic struck, and everybody was closing down for the duration. I do have a couple of commitments I secured before then, for next summer, but apart from these the exhibiting calendar is blank. There would have been no point, of course, in putting in a great effort sooner. I did write to a couple of places only to be told that they were making no plans at all at that time. The start-up of my social life in the ways I have been celebrating in the last couple of posts does remind me, however, that all kinds of institutions are open for business again, and might well be in a position to consider proposals.
Before I roll up my sleeves and settle down with the computer, however, it need to formulate some very specific ideas regarding the focus of a show of my work. Now, there’s a question …..
