Yesterday afternoon we drove over to Skipton for a presentation in connection with my current exhibition there. This is my “Green Man” material, which is currently hosted by Holy Trinity church, in the town. It was a really encouraging occasion.
There was a short service first, which the vicar had carefully managed to relate to the Green Man theme. (It also took place in clear sight of the church’s fine example, in the roof of the nave.) This was followed by my talk in the room where my work is on show. The audience were obviously quite well informed and receptive, and there was a vigorous discussion. The power-point presentation (the primary anxiety of any lecturer these days) all went without a hitch. It was all very satisfying. Tea and biscuits, of course …. it is a church!
I always find it interesting to get to view an exhibition of my work, coming upon it almost as if it is something seen for the first time. How nice to be able to say that it really looked good!
