Great Sheffield Art Show

Well, the show is under way. I volunteered to help hang the display during yesterday, which was quite a novel learning experience. The planning involved in displaying more than 800 pieces of art is quite something. The odd thing was that I saw nothing of. my own work at that stage. It was not until the preview in the evening that I was able to form any impression of how my entry might look. In the event I was quite pleased. It would be nice to make some sales. In an exhibition of that size, however, the competition is steep.

I did have an interesting talk with my son today, while we went for a woodland walk in the beautiful countryside around Sheffield. He works in a business environment, and it became very clear from his comment that I ought to be putting in more systematic effort to promote my work. Nose to the grindstone when I get home!
