Yes, I got back from my Italian trip today. I’m sorry to have been out of touch for the two weeks since I last posted, but internet connection in a small Friulian village is not exactly easy. Well: it might have been there, but my access to it was dictated by the availability of my landlady’s son …. who was not there.
It has been a tremendous visit. The first week was devoted entirely to my project, developing images based upon Italy’s experience of the First World War. The second was a walking holiday with friends. I’ve come back with a huge quantity of material, although less in the form of sketches, for the simple reason that it rained for most of the time in the first week. At the moment I’m struggling just to tidy up life on my return, so I won’t try to share any of the impressions and experiences from the journey. This is just to say, “Thanks for sticking with it.”
