There is a device attached to this website which gives me an indication of where my visitors are located, with a surprising degree of specificity. It is always interesting to look at the results either to confirm the fidelity of some regular readers, or to surprise me with reports of new arrivals. It is actually possible to look at maps indicating their location. Over the years I have been intrigued by the number of visitors to the site who appear to be located in the middle of bodies of water. There is a reservoir in Kansas which appears to be the home of a sizeable cluster of them. Then there is the devoted group located in the middle of the river Thames, just opposite Lambeth Palace. The big surprise, however, has been the dogged loyalty of those who are to be found in the River Moskva, just next to the monument to Peter the Great. Any suggestions as to what is going on here would be warmly welcomed. Believe me, I have no prejudice whatsoever against mermaids. In fact this all adds a touch of romance to the business of running the site. I would love to know what is going on.
