The worst ever

I’m really struggling at the moment with a cold, which I’m sure is the worst one I’ve ever had. This morning’s Italian language class was only survived by a supreme effort. I’ve managed to do little of any value today …. apart from make dinner tonight. There is something particularly nasty about colds, in that they occupy your head both physically and mentally. No intelligent or creative thought is possible. Only one option is left open, and that is simply to endure. I’m sincerely hopeful that it will have moved on tomorrow, because over the next few days I have to complete arrangements for my trip down to Worcester, where I will be exhibiting my “Green Man” series in the Cathedral. Apart from anything else, all the labels will need to be done in a different format from the one I used when this series was shown in Lincoln Cathedral.

I did sum up the energy and concentration today to finish reading the book on Lucian Freud, which accompanied the exhibition in the National Gallery, in London, earlier this year. What a very strange man! I reckon that I will reserve my thoughts on that question until tomorrow, when I’ve had the opportunity to reflect a little more.
