A sense of moving forward

It is interesting how the lack of progress on a particular task can leave a sense of a general failure to move forward in life. When that blockage is removed everything seems to loosen up. This seems to be my condition at the moment. On the domestic front we have been promising ourselves to get the outside of the house painted for ages. This has hung over us like a dark cloud. This week the work is actually being done, and suddenly the future seems to be opening up again.

It seems to be that way with art as well. I have been terribly confused and hesitant about an exact focus for the forthcoming show at the Apothecary Gallery. Consequently it has been very difficult to decide which pieces to select for inclusion, and how the event might hang together as a coherent presentation of my work. This week, all that seems to have been resolved, and all kinds of other questions, including my approach to my June exhibition sat the South Square Centre, are beginning to fall into place.

I have been having a similar experience with the projected redesign of this website. For some reason or another, although I have been resolved in general terms to undertake a major revision and updating of the site, it has not seemed to be possible to actually make that happen. Now I am in discussion with website designers it all seems to be gathering speed sand clarity as a project. Watch this space!
