The task of preparing material for the revision of this web-site is well under way, but I had not anticipated the labour it would involve. I have been through the existing “galleries” identifying old material I want to eliminate. Then I have constructed an elaborate table in which I record, gallery by gallery, the items which will be included in the new version, together with the descriptive details of each image. Two galleries only remain to be trimmed in that way. Then, after that, I have to collect all the photographs of pictures which I want to add, painted since the old site was made, and prepare the descriptive text for them. Now for the interesting bit!
The web-site developer will need to have all of the photographic images, to be placed in the new version of the site. This means that I have to locate these in the collection of about twenty CDs in which I keep my records, and record the identification details so that these can be inserted into the new version of the site.
This is all terribly detailed work, requiring constant concentration and care for detail. A measure of this is that I forgot this morning to go for the haircut I had booked, and had to ring apologetically to book another. Four hours of this work is all I can mange in a day before I begin to go crazy. It is an enormous relief to know that, at last, I am actually addressing the task and making good progress. When it is all over, however, I will really believe that I deserve Christmas.
