A change is as good as a rest.

So goes the old English folk saying. It is, of course, complete nonsense. I am trying, at the moment, to occupy time while my art work has been brought crashing to a standstill, by engaging in a succession of woodwork projects. My storage rack is finished, and I’ve now embarked on planning and preparing to make a couple of raised beds in the garden. Lined up for the future is a cold frame for my daughter-in-law.

Oh, I will keep busy, that’s for sure. But in the back of my mind all the time are those things I would like to see happening in relation to my art, which are currently stalled because of this wretched virus.

I don’t want a rest, and I don’t want a change. All I want is to be able to get back to my art. If I want one thing in the world it is to be allowed to work with a model, but that is still strictly off-limits, and I have no idea when it will be permitted again.
