I made a startling discovery last night, at the life-drawing class. We were given the task of working with just a brush and a large blob of acrylic paint. The idea was to get us to work in broad forms and contrasts of tone instead of fiddling about trying to get a meticulously detailed drawing. It was all going OK when I decided that the paint was too dry. Because we were working to a tight time-table there was not enough time for me to go and get some water with which to thin the paint.
Then, I noticed on the window-sill next to my easel there was a dispenser of sanitising fluid. A quick squirt and I was away! I can recommend it. It handles really nicely. The alcohol in the fluid dries quickly, so that it combined well the capacity to loosen up the paint and the potential to dry quickly. Do you think it will catch on? There are some benefits to this wretched pandemic!
