A question of time

We went up to How Stean again today, to collect my pictures at the end of my exhibition, and managed to get in a nice walk first.  Oddly, it was only in the last mile that I started to see things which might be interesting from an artistic point of view.  To see things properly you need time, and purposeful walking doesn’t allow much of that.  An artist really does need to be able to just stand and stare.  I’ve noticed this with climbing also.  I rarely if ever get any inspiration when I’m at the rock-face.  There is no time just to look.

I enjoyed very much the How Stean event.  Didn’t sell much, but I can honestly say that I have never been received with such enthusiastic cooperation by any other venue in which I’ve exhibited.  I’m truly grateful to them.
