Art to a time-table?

No: of course, that isn’t going to work, is it? Ideas (whether spontaneous or the result of commissions) never seem to arrive at conveniently-spaced intervals. Having spent months in the first part of the year wondering if I’ll ever paint again, I now find that there are not enough hours in the day.

I’ve had in mind for some time a composition based on traditional Yorkshire dry-stone walls, and collected some reference material. This has remained in my files for several years until, looking for something else entirely, I bumped into it. My response was quite startlingly immediate, and I’ve been painting like a maniac for the past couple of days.
