Business or pleasure?

This afternoon, on the way back from our weekly Italian language class in Harrogate, we called in at the Square and Compass in North Rigton.  I suppose its best description is a “gastropub”: very nice anyway, especially when you can sit out on the terrace in the sunshine, as you could today.  I guess it must have been about a year ago that I had the bright idea that, as this is the closest pub to Almscliff Crag (“God’s Own Crag”) they might be interested in displaying pictures of this local beauty spot.  Largely to my surprise they accepted the idea, and since then I have had pictures of the crag on display there.  I call in about every three months to rotate the stock …. and enjoy the beer.  There is space for four of my pieces at any one time.  I’m rather proud of the current display, which I think captures the spirit of the place well.  As it happens this is a fairly effective way of getting work out there.  I made a rather good sale in the last round, and my stock of visiting cards had all gone today.  Check out the art: check out the pub.  Business or pleasure?  Or both.
