…. but (so they say) do it anyway. I’ve been reminding myself of this saying throughout the day, off and on. This morning I was sitting by the window, looking out over the garden and drinking my coffee, when suddenly an idea for a picture came into my head. It’s an excellent idea …. but the thought of tackling it scares me stiff. It involves a group of people, and I’m not sure I could do justice to it without the collaboration of models. (I have never had much success with those wretched mannekin things.) Then there is the question of lighting!
Like Sting, in Seven Days, I could just “run away”, but I believe that the purpose of going public on this one is to head off that option.
Now the panic is beginning to subside I remind myself that I have done a picture on a previous occasion which involved a number of figures, synthesised into a single composition from multiple items of research material. I’m going to need to sleep on this one.
