Regular readers will perhaps remember a post from a couple of weeks back in which I speculated as to whether one of my pictures had been stolen, because I couldn’t trace it. Since then I have been frustrated and puzzled by my inability to locate several other pieces, which I had in mind for my exhibition at the Manor House Museum and Gallery in Ilkley, over the Easter period. Yesterday I made a helpful …. but oh so embarrassing …. discovery.
Way back before the covid outbreak our local deli agreed very kindly to display a selection of my work in their dining area.* When the covid restrictions were introduced the dining area was closed. It was only yesterday that the penny dropped, and I realised that it was possible that they were still hosting my pictures. I went round and asked, and this is indeed the case. I guess this is one of those occasions when Homer Simpson might have said, “Doh!”
It is a much less romantic, and indeed a banal explanation of the loss of my pictures, but on the whole I think that I will be glad to have them back.
* The deli is called Origin, and I’m very grateful for their hospitality.
