I’m awarding “brownie points” ….

….to the Apothecary Gallery in Thornton. I went to pick up my work at the end of the Christmas exhibition this morning. Not only have they sold one of my pieces, but for the first time in my career as an artist, the proprietor had wrapped my work ready for collection! What courtesy! He has also suggested that he hangs onto the ousted prints and cards for inclusion in the coming month’s general display. Thank you, Patrick.

A much-needed session with the physiotherapist this afternoon has removed any remaining excuses I might have for not returning to work after the festive break. Today I actually put the drawing board with its sheet of paper onto the easel. So I have absolutely no further excuses.

I’m sure that my motivation will be boosted by my Italian language class tomorrow, at which the instructor wants us to talk about the work of Renato Guttuso. He’s probably my favourite Italian modern artist.
