I’ve just received a very encouraging piece of news. One of my pictures has been accepted for exhibition at the annual Patchings Festival of Art, Craft and Design. This is a major national competitive exhibition that takes place every year at the Patchings Art Centre in Nottinghamshire. It will run between 11 July and 11 August.
It is really heartening to receive this encouragement after such a long period in which things have not been going too well for me on the art front. At the same time, ideas have been starting to crystallise for new work. I shall be going over to Ilkley later this afternoon in order to stock up on material for a new project. As yet it doesn’t quite feel that I am off the ground, but I am pounding down the runway with permission to take off.
