The Ilkley exhibition is going very well …. generally speaking. This afternoon, however, my wife came to collect me at the end of the session, and looking around the display remarked that one item was “insipid”, and suggested an alternative. She doesn’t mince her words! The piece in question had been included as an example of my ability to work with watercolour, but I guess that she had a point, in that it doesn’t make a strong contribution to the theme I have chosen. So, back at home tonight have excavated from my racks the piece she recommended, and prepared a label for tomorrow.
The change has given me the opportunity also to make another late substitution of a piece with which I was not entirely happy. As they say in football commentaries, “Just when they thought is was all over!”
