Tomorrow morning we will be heading off early to Lincoln. I will be removing my exhibition on Monday from the Cathedral and returning home. On Saturday the plan is to meet my step-son and his wife and watch a performance of the Mystery Plays together. In the intervals I will have the opportunity to loiter with intent in the Chapter House and observe the reactions of visitors to my Green Man material. This is the first occasion on which this has been on show and it will be interesting to see how it is received. I always like to have the opportunity to hang around during one of my exhibitions in order to see how people respond. So: there will be no blog post at least until Monday evening, and perhaps Tuesday, depending upon how things go.
This evening there will be one of the regular get-togethers of the Unit 9 Group, at the South Square Centre. In addition to the usual catching up on each other’s news we are all expected to deliver our entries for the forthcoming twentieth anniversary exhibition. (We are each allowed to enter two pieces.) It will be interesting to see what is on offer. Although one of my pieces, dating back to 2005, has been shown there before, the other has not. It was due to be given an airing but the show was abandoned because of the first covid lockdown. I am taking bets on the number of my colleagues whose offerings are entirely predictable, and those which surprise us.
I’m looking forward to an interval of sociability, of one form or another.
