A large part of the past couple of days has been spent in the revision of this web-site. An essential element of that process has been an inspection of everything both on the current web-site and in my records in order to decide what should go in and what deserves to be left out. My overall impression is that the site is currently too crowded. Pruning is required. Some of it is very dated now. But not only have I done more work since the site was first composed (interestingly) my evaluation of some of my older work has changed. This is not an easy ask, as there are several standpoints from which I might wish a piece to be judged. It isn’t just a question of “Is it any good?” A piece might well merit inclusion if it marks an important point in the development of a theme or an idea. Sometimes I might want to show the diversity of my techniques are use of material. OK! I have to admit it. There are occasions when I just have sentimental attachment to something I have done. Either way, this process is taking a very long time, and consuming a great deal of my mental and emotional energy.
Is there one of my pieces you like specially? Or maybe there’s one you would advise me to forget about! Either way, I would be interested to know.
