I wonder if my next project should focus upon portraiture. This has been in the back of my mind for some time, but with no specific focus. Today I have had to write a piece to give context to a portrait of my grandmother, which I am about to exhibit, and this has set me thinking again. During the afternoon also I remembered a little project I did a couple of years ago, doing portraits of snooker players and commentators, taken from still shots of the TV. I really enjoyed doing that, and several of the images were quite convincing.
So: the question arises naturally as to who should be my first “victim”!
By way of context, I was thinking earlier about putting a piece into the forthcoming annual exhibition of the Pastel Society. (They’ve shown my work on four previous occasions.) There’s a thought! How about a portrait?
