Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!*

There are surprises in life….and there are SURPRISES!  Today I had one of the second sort.  Regular readers will remember that not long ago I was amused and interested to be approached by a group of students on a media course at the University of Bradford, who asked if they could make a short documentary film about my work.  It all went well, and I was pleased with the result when it was sent to me.  Clearly it was a very competent piece of work, both technically and artistically.  What I did not expect, however, was the message I received yesterday from the young woman who was heading the team.  The lecturer in charge of their course is so impressed by their work that he is proposing to submit it to a competition organised by the Royal Television Society.

I know that it is the students’ work that is being judged here, and not mine, but I do find that a very pleasing piece of news.

Communication might be a bit hit and miss over the week-end, and we will be going on a family visit to Sheffield.

*I guess that a large proportion of my reader will already have recognised this as one of the running gags in the comedy series Monty Python’s Flying Circus.
