Second thoughts

I was interested by my own response this morning to the picture I dismissed so emphatically yesterday. Perhaps there is, perhaps, something worth continuing with here. We are heading down to London tomorrow, however, for a couple of days. This will be one of our occasional “raids” on galleries and theatres (and restaurants!). As a consequence I will be unable to do anything to this picture until at least the week-end. It will be interesting to see how I respond to it after some days without setting eyes on it.

Incidentally, a consequence of this journey is that I will not be posting again until at least Monday. The reason for this is not that we will be deprived of access to the internet. The hotel where we normally stay is quite good in that respect. I anticipate, however, that we will just be too busy. No doubt you will be able to catch up on our experiences next week. I am looking forward in particular to two of our planned activities. As usual I will be visiting the Estorick Collection, but more particularly it will be possible to see the results of the Jameel Prize, at the Victoria and Albert Museum. This regular award is a global competition given for excellence in Islamic art. The last one I saw was truly spectacular, and I’m looking forwarded very much to this year’s offering.
