Slow learner?

I keep telling myself that framing pictures is a highly-skilled job, and that I am wasting my time attempting to emulate the work of the professionals.

Why is is, therefore, that whenever I come across a frame I no longer need, which appears to match the dimensions of a piece I have just painted our drawn, that I convince myself that surely it must be possible to do a half-decent job if only I try hard enough, and take care? I am reminded of an experience a couple of weeks ago, when I parked the car in a very narrow space between two other vehicles, with only just enough room for me to wriggle out through a half-open door. Another motorist, getting into his vehicle nearby, remarked, “You like a challenge, don’t you?” Maybe that’s it.
