…. have nothing to do with inspiration or creativity. There’s neither inspiration nor creativity in applying several coats of gesso. At least I don’t have to grind my own pigments, as in the olden days. They used to say that “it’s better to travel hopefully than to arrive.” Don’t you believe it, Sunshine! I’m surprised that they haven’t discovered applying gesso as a modern equivalent of sewing mail-bags in jail. I came to appreciate the good news this afternoon, however, reading about how you make the stuff. Thank goodness I’m spared that chore!
