Tenterhooks!

Our trip to Scotland was very good. Not only did we have the opportunity to see friends and family, but time to walk in the countryside, and (of course!) visit the Scottish National Gallery in Edinburgh. Now that we are back in Bradford I find myself suddenly face to face with the realisation that the results of the competition for places in the annual exhibition of the Pastel Society can be expected any any time now. With no particular project to distract me at the moment this seems to occupy the entire horizon of life. It is hard to describe the state of agitation from which I can’t be distracted. Tomorrow should be a little busier, as I get back into the routine of activities. I really do hope so.

Incidentally, I was amused and puzzled, at the 60th birthday ceilidh of my friend in Edinburgh, that young people appear to have lost entirely the sense of what it means to dance. On reflection, what a terrible thought!
