This is the message of the day. My struggle with the revision of my website is going quite well, after I have faced my demons and had a pep-talk from Joe Gilmore. There is a lot more to do in order to reach the point for which I am aiming, but I am developing a sense that this is actually attainable. The task is now tedious but no longer terrifying.
It was immensely encouraging today, when I went over to the South Square Centre in order to retrieve my pieces from our recent group exhibition. June Russell, a very able print-maker and a fellow member of the group, was there and we got into conversation (socially distant and masked!) I confided in her the degree of my technophobia and the difficulty I had been experiencing in getting to grips with the revision process. June is far less intimidated than I am by the technology, but she did admit that this is one of those tasks that it is easy to set aside in order to make room for those things we as artists find more interesting. What is more, the longer the job is deferred the harder it becomes to actually engage with it. We encouraged each other.
June manages the group’s website, and was complaining about the reluctance of our fellow members to keep her supplied with relevant information. It seems that I am far from being the only artist who has a tendency to run away from technology.
