Struggling against hay-fever this morning, my spirits were lifted enormously by the news that I have had at least one success with my applications for competitive exhibition entry. The annual exhibition organised by The Artist magazine, at the Patchings Art Centre in Nottinghamshire, has given one of my pieces a “highly commended” grading. It will not be included in the relatively small number of pieces that actually make it onto the walls, but will be included in the on-line display that accompanies the show. Naturally, I’m delighted.
