Little by little we’re moving forward

For the first time in ages I actually feel that I have been moving forward today. The fact that my injured arm has not given any trouble, for the first time in ages, has been an enormous boost to morale. More important I suppose is the fact that plans to revise this website have, at last, shown signs of progress. I hope to get the missing photographs on Monday. My intended correspondence has transformed into actual, accomplished correspondence. A task I have been promising to complete, for the regional Italian Circle, has been advanced.

A significant boost to my morale has been my decision to give up on a collapsing CD system, and commit myself once more to the joys of vinyl. The trip down memory lane which this involved gave a lift to my spirits even though it left my wife wondering what was going on. Some of this stuff she has never heard before. I’m afraid that dinner time became an exercise in spiritual archaeology.

As important as anything else, in lifting morale, has been the fact that we managed to complete a Guardian crossword today, for the first time in ages. There’s life in the old dog yet! On the down-side, she did beat me at Scrabble …. although she did have the good grace to say that I taught her everything she knows.

I expect that you can tell from this post that my spirits have been improving on their recent low level.
