Two jigsaw puzzles later….

….and here I am, back on line again. I promised myself a complete break and a rest, as this was what I really believed I needed. There have been times when I have had to be quite strict with myself, insisting that I avoid the temptation to do something to do with “work”. Indeed, there was one occasion when my determination slipped, and I spent half-an-hour taking reference photographs for a picture I have in mind. On the whole, however, I have exercised an admirable discipline.

I can recommend the use of jigsaw puzzles when you are trying hard not to do anything at all that is useful. The 1,000-piece one was especially beneficial. Also I have to admit that a back-strain exercised a degree of discipline, restraining me from doing anything that looked as if it might require physical effort. Anyway: here I am, full of Christmas cake and sociability, and ready to go again. My positive attitude, I have to admit, is enhanced by the fact that I sold some things at the Christmas exhibition in the Apothecary gallery.

Normal service will (they say) be resumed as soon as possible. Meanwhile, can I wish my readers a very Happy New Year.
