Actually, no, I’m going forward. I made a booking today for a short stay in a small Derbyshire cottage in which I have stayed on a previous occasion. I do hope that this experience will have the stimulating effect I have experienced when I have done this kind of thing before. My enthusiasm has been qualified to some extent by the experience of yesterday’s life-drawing class. Usually I find these events stimulating, with the interest of new techniques or media. On this occasion, however, despite the encouragement to use unfamiliar materials, and a very good model, for some reason it all fell flat. Well, I suppose that you “can’t win them all.”
